Model of Care

Navigating the real world...

Green Hill Recovery fosters individual growth by providing a peer-supported, sober living community within the cosmopolitan and academically rich setting of Raleigh, NC. Our program is designed to support emerging adults who are transitioning from the primary level of substance use disorder care and are interested in pursuing an academic degree. Our facilities are conveniently located near NC State University, William Peace University, Wake Tech Community College and many other colleges. We equip residents with the resources and support needed to maintain long-term sobriety while navigating life’s complexities.

We operate under the concept that the most effective learning environment is the “real world.” Our residents are guided and encouraged to take on increasing levels of responsibility as they progress through our program’s three sober living phases. We ask that residents remain open minded and stay committed to our process.

Our model...

At Green Hill Recovery, we work with residents to develop time management skills as they balance a course load and their recovery commitments. Our staff promotes healthy living habits through guided trips to the grocery store and in-home cooking lessons. We believe interpersonal skills are best learned through experience – we encourage residents to process disagreements that arise within the home, and confront them in a calm and controlled setting.

The Green Hill Recovery Model of Care embodies five key components:

Monitored sober living at our recovery residence located near a number of colleges and universities

Emerging adult focused group and individual therapy administered by licensed clinicians

Development and implementation of an academic plan with consistent professional support

Exciting and informative experiences that reinforce the fundamentals of recovery and build community

Renewed focus on diet, exercise and mindfulness to build a healthy, sustainable lifestyle

We prepare our residents for a life of long-term recovery by teaching them to appropriately process every-day problems and providing intensive clinical services. Our program is intended to develop executive functioning skills and equip residents with a foundation for future success.
