Cassidy Conway

Primary Therapist

Cassidy Conway, LCAS-A, LCMHC-A, NCC is a Primary Therapist at Green Hill. She provides individual and group counseling in our outpatient program, helping young adults empower themselves on their journey of growth and development. In addition, she collaborates on a team working to expand the Green Hill curriculum to an online platform.

Prior Experience

Cassidy graduated from Drexel University with a both a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Bachelor of Science in Behavioral Health Counseling. During her time, she completed 3 co-op’s that allowed her to explore her clinical interests and hone in on her desire to work with individuals in addressing mental health and substance use together. She moved to North Carolina and pursued her Master’s in Counseling from UNC Charlotte while also working as a Graduate Assistant for the school’s Collegiate Recovery Community.

Her program included two internships that expanded Cassidy’s interests, including a position at a local community college’s Veteran Student’s Office followed by a role at an intensive substance use outpatient program for men who experienced homelessness. Such experiences cemented to Cassidy that it is never too late nor too early to seek help for issues surrounding mental health and substance abuse.

Professional Passion

Cassidy believes that rather than pursuing it, her professional journey in counseling found her. Although interested in the phenomena, it wasn’t until working in a hospital that Cassidy recognized the stigma towards the disease of addiction in a medical setting. Such experiences fueled her fight to educate and advocate for the recovery community, including affirming treatment environments for LGBTQ clients. Cassidy believes an individual’s unique attributes, personal life experiences, and cultural identity are influential in a person’s life story and journey. As a result, Cassidy works from a person-centered, trauma informed, and systemic approach. She finds collaboration within counseling and the power of community to be essential components of treatment.
