Michael Holsten, MSW, LCSW, PA-C

Michael Holsten, MSW, LCSW, PA-C, is a Psychiatric Physician Assistant at Green Hill Recovery by Advaita Health, where he provides psychiatric assessments, medication management, and collaborative care for individuals in recovery. With a dual background in medicine and clinical social work, Mike blends medical expertise with a deep understanding of therapeutic practice, focusing on treating the whole person rather than just symptoms.

Mike earned his Bachelor of Social Work from North Carolina State University before completing both a Master of Physician Assistant Studies and a Master of Social Work. He graduated from the Physician Assistant Program at UNC–Chapel Hill in 2023, serving as class president and receiving the Excellence in Research Award for his capstone project on mental health and bariatric surgery. Before becoming a Physician Assistant, Mike spent eight years as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in community mental health, providing psychotherapy and direct support to individuals facing a range of challenges.

Mike is passionate about delivering person-centered, compassionate care grounded in dignity and respect. He believes that meaningful progress comes from collaboration and that the most successful outcomes arise when individuals are empowered to take an active role in their own healing and growth.
