Michael O’Sullivan is a program facilitator at Green Hill. Michael primarily works with clients in the program’s transitional living program. In this role, Michael helps maintain a therapeutic environment while clients are outside of formal clinical sessions. Michael is responsible for the safety and compliance of clients while they are in Green Hill residential living. More importantly, Michael is able to build rapport with clients, provide an understanding ear, and organize group activities.
Michael graduated from Duke University with a BA in Psychology. Prior to working in Green Hill, Michael interned at Phoenix House of New York, an adult-focused substance abuse treatment and vocational training program. Michael has been a part of the Green Hill family for three years and this time and experience has allowed him to develop and hone his ability as a program facilitator.
Michael’s interest in the field of substance abuse treatment is deeply personal. He himself entered treatment in 2014 while at Duke University. He spent six months in a residential program for college enrolled men which allowed him to continue his studies, develop a support network, and build life skills. His firsthand experience gives him an insight and credibility when dealing with issues clients may face at Green Hill.
